I'm sure Activision has ideas like this on the table, so we'll see how the company feels after this first outing for the multiplayer starter pack.

I can't imagine I'm the only weirdo out there who plays Call of Duty for the campaign, and I like to imagine some others out there would pick up the game just for that. A little ways down the line, I'd like to see the idea extended to all parts of the game: a few months after release, just break the game into three segments and let people buy whichever section they like. It makes particular sense with the multiplayer version, because it could potentially open Activision up to a wider customer base for selling DLC and microtransactions. Between zombies, the single-player campaign and the trademark multiplayer, the $60 box for a typical Call of Duty title comes with a whole lot of material, and some people are only going to want to engage with one facet of it. I'm a fan of the multiplayer-only Call of Duty concept in general.
